Wedding Guest Transportation

Get Every Guest to the Ceremony and the Reception

TransTerra is a San Diego charter bus company that moves wedding guest lists, not just the couple. We run shuttles between hotels, ceremony sites, and reception venues across San Diego County, so nobody circles for parking, nobody gets lost on the way, and nobody misses the first dance because of traffic. Whether you are moving a wedding party of 12 or a guest list of 150 across two venues, we build the transportation plan around your timeline instead of asking you to fit your day around ours.

Why A Bus, Not A Limo

Built for the Guest List, Not Just the Couple

A limo is designed to carry the couple and a small group. A guest list is a different job, and it takes a different kind of vehicle. TransTerra's full size charter buses carry up to 56 passengers, our mini buses carry up to 29, and our Sprinter vans carry up to 12. Because we can mix vehicle types on a single wedding, the plan can match your actual headcount. A larger celebration might run two full size buses on the main guest loop and a Sprinter van for the wedding party, while a smaller one might need a single mini bus and nothing more.

Fewer vehicles at the venue also means less parking stress for everyone. One bus replaces a dozen cars circling for a spot in formal wear, and your guests step off at the door instead of walking in from a lot.

Standby or Loop Shuttle, Whichever Fits Your Day

Every wedding runs differently, so we offer two ways to move your guests, and you can use both on the same day.

With standby service, your bus stays at the venue and leaves when your guests are ready. It works well when the end of the evening is hard to predict and you do not want to watch the clock.

With loop shuttle service, your buses run a set schedule between the hotel and your venues, picking up and dropping off in waves. Guests do not have to arrive at the same moment, and nobody waits long for the next ride.

Many couples combine the two, running a loop before the ceremony and keeping a bus on standby after the reception. Wedding rentals have a 5 hour minimum, which leaves room in the schedule for loading, travel, and the things nobody planned for.

How It Works

From Quote to Curb in Four Steps

Booking wedding transportation with TransTerra does not need a long back and forth. Four steps take you from the first message to a bus at the curb.

01

Send us the details

Tell us your wedding date, estimated guest count, the venues involved, and your rough timeline. A copy of your wedding day schedule helps us plan the pickups.

02

We build the plan

We recommend the vehicles and the type of service, standby, loop, or a mix of both, based on your guest count and the distance between stops.

03

Book early

Reach out as early as you can, especially for a larger party, so we have time to plan the right vehicles and schedule for your date.

04

Ride day

Our professional drivers work from your timeline, so your guests get where they need to be and you get to focus on the day.

Planning Your Timeline

Build the Transportation Plan Around Your Day

The smoothest wedding transportation starts with a timeline, and the details that matter most are simple. Decide who needs a ride first, whether that is out of town guests only, the full guest list, or just the wedding party. Then map the route: most weddings run hotel to ceremony, ceremony to reception, and reception back to the hotel.

Keep pickups simple. One or two central pickup points beat a dozen scattered ones, and guests in formal wear should not have to solve a navigation puzzle. Build in buffer time for boarding, traffic, and the guest who is always ten minutes behind. Then share your wedding day schedule with us so our drivers work from the same plan you do, and put the pickup times and locations on your wedding website or invitations so guests know exactly where to be.

Wedding Weekend

More Than Just the Ceremony Day

A wedding in San Diego is often a weekend, not a single afternoon, and the transportation questions start before the ceremony. Guests landing at San Diego International can ride on to the hotel together by airport shuttle, so out of town family arrives as one group instead of splitting across rideshares. From there, the same team can handle the ceremony day, and we can quote other events on your schedule, such as a rehearsal dinner or a welcome gathering, when you tell us what is planned.

The earlier you know who needs a ride, the easier every other decision gets. Once you have a guest count and one or two central pickup points, wedding transportation planning gets much simpler, and we are happy to look over your draft plan once you have one.

Weddings Across San Diego and Beyond

Most of our weddings are right here in San Diego County, and our San Diego bus rental service covers venues, hotels, and ceremony sites across the region. If your plans reach further, we also run wedding transportation in Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside, and Imperial County. We also cover out of state weddings, so if your ceremony or reception is outside California, we can get your guests there too. Common Questions

Wedding Transportation Questions, Answered

Here are the questions couples and planners ask us most before they book.

  • How much does wedding transportation cost in San Diego?

The price depends on how many vehicles you need, how long you need them, and how far apart your stops are. Wedding rentals have a 5 hour minimum. Request a free quote with your date, guest count, and venues and we will send you exact pricing for your day.

  • Who pays for wedding guest transportation?

That is a decision for you and your families. Some couples cover guest transportation as part of the wedding budget, and others split it. Tell us what you have in mind and we will quote it so you can decide.

  • How far in advance should we book?

As early as possible, especially for a large party or a popular date. The earlier you reach out, the more time we have to plan the right vehicles and schedule for your day.

  • Is a charter bus or a limo better for a wedding?

A limo is built for the couple and a small group. A charter bus or mini bus is built for moving the guest list together. Many weddings use both, with a limo for the couple and buses for everyone else.

  • What is the minimum rental time for a wedding?

Wedding rentals have a 5 hour minimum.

  • Can you use more than one bus, or a mix of vehicles?

Describe the item or answer the question so that site visitors who are interested get more information. You can emphasize this text with bullets, italics or bold, and add links.
  • Do you offer standby service or loop shuttles?

Both. Standby keeps a bus at your venue until you are ready to leave. Loop shuttles run on a set schedule between your hotel and your venues. You can use either, or combine them across the day.

  • Do you cover weddings outside San Diego or outside California?

Yes. We cover weddings across Southern California and out of state. Tell us where your venues are and we will plan the route and quote it.

  • How many guests can one vehicle hold?

A full size charter bus holds up to 56 passengers, a mini bus up to 29, and a Sprinter van up to 12. Give us your headcount and we will recommend the right mix.
